Smarter snipping, a new way to hide highlights, recovery for deleted items, and a full accessibility audit.
Smarter snipping — panel-aware mode
A new Only when the side panel is open snipping mode is now the default for new users. The Snip overlay only appears while the Snipext panel is open, so the extension stays out of the way when you're not actively using it. The previous modes — always-on selection and right-click context menu — are still available in Settings → Snipping Mode.
Hide highlights
You can now hide individual highlights without deleting them. Hover over any card and click Hide to tuck it away. Hidden items are excluded from the list by default; toggle Show Hidden in the tag filter bar to include them. Hidden cards show a glasses icon so you know they're there. Great for keeping sensitive or noisy snippets out of your main view without losing them.
Restore deleted items
The Settings → Data section now lets you recover soft-deleted highlights before they're permanently removed. Click Restore deleted items to bring them all back — each restored item receives a #~restored~ tag so you can find them instantly with the tag filter. The permanent-removal button now requires a confirmation step to prevent accidental data loss.
Accessibility improvements
All interactive controls across the panel and options page now carry proper aria-label, aria-pressed, and role="img" attributes. Decorative emojis are wrapped with aria-hidden. Toggle buttons correctly announce their state to screen readers.
